It is now past midnight here in the Central time zone, so I can say that today is Selection Sunday! It was a great Championship Saturday with many teams locking up bids.

It was really hard to decide the last couple of teams in, I feel like any of the last four teams out could sneak into the Tournament if the Committee has the inclination to put them in. Remember that my bracket tries to replicate what I think the NCAA Committee will do and not necessarily who I think deserves to be in the field.

Auto Bids are in CAPS. The winner of the Midwest Region will play the winner of the West Region; the winner of the East Region will play the winner of the South Region.

St. Louis (M)

It will be a busy night as a bracketologist trying to get teams in the correct region. An update to where I have teams seeded as of right now:

#1 seeds: Kentucky (Overall #1 seed), Syracuse, North Carolina, Missouri

#2 seeds: Michigan State, Kansas, Ohio State, Duke

#3 seeds: Marquette, Baylor, Michigan, Georgetown

Man it was crazy night for teams on the bubble tonight! Texas played their way in and Mississippi State played their way out. Washington and Northwestern's performances should've pushed them out, but there are no suitable replacements for them just yet.

No time for a full bracket so I'll just post the seeds as of now:

#1's: Syracuse, Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina

#2's: Duke, Michigan State, Ohio State, Missouri

Welcome to this week's edition of my Bracketology. Lots of movement going on this week with teams desperate for wins getting upsets of top teams. Bracket takes into account games played through Sunday 2/26.

Not much movement on the top lines, but there is a lot of movement further down the bracket.

Bracket is always as if today was Selection Sunday. Auto bids are in CAPS and are the current conference leader with ties broken by RPI; once Conference Tournaments start the auto bids will be the highest remaining seed in the conference tournament.

Winner of the East Region plays the winner of the West Region; the winner of the Midwest Region plays the winner of the South Region.

Welcome to the latest edition of my Bracketology. We are only 3 weeks away from Selection Sunday, so while it doesn't seem like a lot of time, there are plenty of conference finishes and conference tournaments which can help to shaken things up between now and Selection Sunday.

Reminder that the bracket is as of today was Selection Sunday and takes into account games through 2/18. Auto Bids are in CAPS and are the team with the fewest conference losses, with ties broken by RPI. The Auto Bids stated are not necessarily who I am picking to win the conference.

In my bracket the winner of the East Region plays the winner of the West Region; the winner of the South Region plays the winner of the Midwest Region.

Due to Principles and Procedures certain teams cannot play in certain locations; i.e. Ohio State cannot play in Columbus, New Mexico can't play in Albuquerque, Saint Louis can't play in the Midwest Region, etc.

It is Super Bowl Sunday a time for food, friends and of course Bracketology.

A reminder that my bracket does not predict winners of conferences or how I think teams will finish but merely assesses where teams would be seeded as if today was Selection Sunday (which is only 5 weeks away). The bracket takes into account games played through Saturday 2/4.

I try to follow all of the NCAA's Principals and Procedures to avoid rematches, but teams from the same conference in different regions, etc.* In the bracket the winner of the East plays the winner of the West and the winner of the South plays the winner of the Midwest Region.

Auto Bids are in CAPS and are the team with the fewest losses in conference play with ties broken by RPI.

Welcome to the 2nd edition of Lobofan2003's 2012 Bracketology.

About the Bracket: The way I do bracketology is always based on as if the season ended and today was Selection Sunday. I don't make determinations about a team will finish the season or base the bracket on what I think of a team, but rather how I believe the NCAA Tournament Committee would seed the teams. Some times teams are switched around in order to account for the NCAA Prinicples and Procedures that the Committee is supposed to follow in putting together a bracket (where teams from the same conference can be placed, attempting to avoid rematches, etc.).

The bracket takes into account games played through 1/21/12.

Automatic bids are noted in CAPS based on fewest conference losses (ties broken by highest RPI); this year the winner of the East Region will play the winner of the West Region and the winner of the South region will play the winner of the Midwest Region in the Final Four.

Welcome to the 1st edition of Lobofan2003's Bracketology. First of all, I hope everyone has a great and blessed New Year! This will be the 4th year that I do a bracketology; due to the lack of free time to devote to bracketology my updates will likely be less frequent than in past years, but I hope to put out a new bracket every couple of weeks or so until it cranks up in March.

About the Bracket: The way I do bracketology is always based on as if the season ended and today was Selection Sunday. I don't make determinations about a team will finish the season or base the bracket on what I think of a team, but rather how I believe the NCAA Tournament Committee would seed the teams.
How is Conference Realignment going to affect each of the conferences in basketball?

Everyone is focused on what realignment is going to do to the balance of power in football, well because that's the reason for all the realignment. But I think there are some interesting effects on some of the conferences in basketball.

Big Winners:

ACC- A very strong basketball league is about to get stronger. Pittsburgh and Syracuse are very strong basketball programs with talented head coaches in Jamie Dixon and Jim Boeheim; add these two schools to Duke, North Carolina, Florida State and Virginia Tech and you have a very powerful basketball league. Probably will be the best basketball league in the country.

The performance by the Big East and Big Ten in the NCAA tournament has been underwhelming to say the least.

The two conferences combined to earn 16 of the 37 at-large teams in the field. Of those 16 at-large teams, none remain in the Elite 8. (The only team from the Big East or Big Ten remaining is UCONN who won the Big East Auto Bid.) Meanwhile we have teams that some felt didn't belong in the field (VCU) and from one of the "weaker" Big 6 conferences (Arizona) who received at-large bids that are still alive and kicking.

Of the record 5 teams that received at-large bids with 14 losses; 3 of them came from the Big East and Big Ten. Marquette equitted itself well, winning two games to get to the Sweet 16, but Penn State and Michigan State fell flat in their opening games.

This is it, if there are any changes to be made it's not happening, I'm locking the bracket down.

With the Buckeyes winning the Big Ten Tournament they are the #1 overall seed and will play in the East Region. The winner of the East Region will play the winner of the West Region; winner of the Southwest Region will play the winner of the Southeast Region.

AUTO BIDS are in CAPS.

San Antonio (SW)

Here is my latest bracket through 6PM ET on Friday. Bracket is if season ended today.

Lots of changes since Sunday, probably too many to list. Some key takeaways; despite what some bracketologists are saying Georgia is still in the field and Alabama is still out in my bracket even after their game today. Boston College is definitely out after getting blown out by Clemson.

Big bubble games tonight with Michigan State, Penn State, USC, Virginia Tech, and New Mexico trying to earn their way into the Tournament. Of those teams I only have Michigan State and Virginia Tech in for now, but both likely need to win in order to stay in the bracket.

Winner of the East Region will play the winner of the West Region; winner of the Southeast Region plays the winner of the Southwest Region.

I realize the 1st Round or Pigtail game has already been played, but that doesn't really effect anything.

The Mountain West tournament is wide open this year; I don't believe there is any clear favorite. Any of the top 5 teams are capable of winning the whole thing which should make for some exciting action.

Players to Watch : Everyone knows about Jimmer Fredette who leads the nation in scoring. But there are many other exciting players to watch in the Mountain West:

1. Jimmer Fredette-Leads the nation in scoring; the Cougars are going to need to lean on him if they are going to win the MWC tournament in the absence of Brandon Davies.

Here's my bracket with most of Sunday's games having been completed.

Quite a few upsets in the conference tournaments already with Indiana State and NC-Asheville upsetting the #1 seeds in their conference in the final.

Watch out for VCU as well, they are back on the bubble with their win over George Mason in the CAA Semifinals and may very well steal a bid from somebody.

Please let me know if I missed any rematches. I was traveling today and while my plane had wifi, I had the bracket set without rematches until all the craziness of today's games.

It does not take into account any of today's games.

Lots of changes with VT's win over Duke moving them into the bracket as a #11 seed and dropping Duke to a #2 seed.

The winner of the Southeast region plays the winner of the West region; winner of the Southwest region plays the winner of the East region.

New Orleans (SE)

Here is my latest bracket with the result of today's early afternoon games taken into account:

I discovered while I was swapping teams around that I had left Butler out of the bracket by accident, but they are in the bracket as an 11 seed. I think I had told some of you that regularly discuss bracketology that I had Gonzaga in as one of the Final Four, but they are knocked out to make room for Butler.

Winner of the East Region will play the winner of the West Region; winner of the Southwest Region will play the winner of the Southeast Region.

Auto Bids are in CAPS

Here is the next version of my NCAA bracketology. The bracket takes into account all games played through Saturday.

No changes on the #1 seeds, but there are a couple of changes on the last few teams in. Namely, a couple of teams (UAB and Butler) are knocked out of the bracket; for Butler this is partially due to their own struggles, but also due to "Bid Stealers". Bid Stealers are teams that are leading their conference and are therefore in the bracket as the auto bid but would not make the field as an At-Large. The two new bid stealers in this bracket are Alabama and UTEP. There are always a couple of these bid stealers come conference tournament time that turn a 1-bid league into a 2-bid league or get an extra team out of a power conference that they would not have otherwise gotten.

I have been busy with numerous church, work and just life activities and haven't had the time to produce any brackets yet for the upcoming March Madness.

For those who've never seen my bracket in previous years I am humbled to say that I've actually done very well as a bracketologist in past years including beating many of the experts. To know how your favorite bracketologist (which may not be me) did last year visit the Bracket Project here . The Bracket Project also does a Matrix which shows how each team is doing in each bracket that they track this year.

All seeds are as of 1/31; they are not a projection of how teams will end up, but merely a snapshot if Selection Sunday were today. Automatic Bids are in CAPS.

I try and follow all NCAA Principles & Procedures (the ones that the Committee uses to develop a bracket) so if you see anything not following these Procedures let me know. Sometimes teams are moved around to accomodate the Procedures.

I posted the latest edition of my NCAA tournament bracket here .

The biggest changes in my bracket are New Mexico falling to a 3 seed after their loss to San Diego State and Dayton and Rhode Island falling out of the bracket after falling in the A-10 tournament.

I have Washington as my last At-Large into the field for right now, but if either Minnesota or Mississippi State win tonight and the Huskies lose to Cal, the Huskies will be leapfrogged and me out of my projected Field of 65.

#1 seeds: Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse, Duke

I posted a new bracket taking into account games through this afternoon.

Illinois returns to the bracket after their win against Wisconsin today. Ohio State, thanks to Evan Turner's miracle buzzer-beater, is still in the hunt for a 2 seed, but not quite there yet. All of my #2 seeds; West Virginia, Purdue, Kansas State and New Mexico have better resumes than the Buckeyes. I think in order for the Buckeyes to get a #2 they have to hope one of those teams slips up in their conference tournament.

#1 seeds: Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse, Duke

#2 seeds: West Virginia, Purdue, Kansas State, New Mexico

I have not been able to devote as much time to Bracketology as I would like, as I am getting ready to move to Texas next week. So you may get one more bracket out of me on Sunday and then probably not again for another week until I can get down to Texas and get internet installed and everything.

Anyway, the latest edition of my bracketology is up on the Ya Sports! website, here

Purdue gets a #1 seed for now, but who knows how long that will last with Hummel out for them. Tough break for a really great player. We'll see how Purdue does the rest of the year, but I think if they slip up even once, the committee is going to give them a #2 seed (assuming Duke wins the ACC tournament and gets the last #1 seed).

#1 seeds: Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse, Purdue

The latest edition of my bracket can be found here . Not a whole lot of changes, but Wisconsin and Gonzaga both fell a seed with their losses last night. Villanova is barely hanging on to a #1 seed over Purdue, but that can easily change over the next week.

#1 seeds: Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse, Villanova

#2 seeds: Purdue, Duke, West Virginia, Kansas State

#3 seeds: Vanderbilt, New Mexico, Michigan State, Georgetown

No sweethart for me, so I am hanging with my love of College Basketball.

I made some last minute changes to take into account Georgetown's loss to Rutgers as well as Louisville's win over Syracuse, so I hope I haven't missed any potential rematches.

#1 seeds: Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse, Villanova

#2 seeds: Duke, Purdue, West Virginia, Kansas State

Here is the latest version of my Bracketology, updating through the results of Wednesday's games.

Lobofan2003 Bracket

Nothing changes on the 1 or 2 seed lines, but there is a big shakeup on the 3 and 4 lines. New Mexico and Vanderbilt move up to 3 seeds; while Texas and Michigan St. due to their multiple losses within the last couple of weeks move down to the 4 seed.

#1 seeds: Kansas, Syracuse, Kentucky, Villanova
